Abstract

Starting from the critical situation that today characterizes socialist political movements, Axel Honneth proposes a reconstruction of the socialist idea which, and rightly so, aims at getting back to the original socialist principles.  The article analyzes Axel Honneth's proposal of a re-actualization of socialism, compares it with Gerald Cohen's reflections on the same topic, and proposes some critical remarks.
