The article aims to represent the meaning and function that Jakob Friedrich Fries attributes to the concept of an anthropological logic. The framework of Fries' reflection is as much external – and in this regard the notion is related to the theories of Kant and Rickert that recall it by proximity or opposition – as it is internal – and in this context the project of an anthropological logic is framed within the more general assumption of a New Critique of Reason that Fries develops in close comparison with Kant and the major classical German philosophers.
