Abstract

The University of Ferrara commemorated Suzuki Daisetz Teitarō on the sixtieth anniversary of his death with an international symposium entitled “D. T. Suzuki: beyond culture. The experience of spiritual awakening beyond the boundaries of culture,” on Friday, 20 March 2026. The contributions presented during this study day brought out the complexity of Suzuki, a central figure in the worldwide dissemination of Zen Buddhism and in intercultural dialogue.
