Abstract

Starting from a Lectio by Romano Prodi, these pages focus on a potential – and hidden – aporia of the globalization process, made evident by the “Chinese case”. Given that the Chinese aspiring techno(-post)-democracy aims to be a governance of the global phenomena (primarily, the economic phenomenon) better than the democratic-liberal one, the question becomes: what are the real values that the globalization must convey? If we believe that there is something worth more than global market efficiency, then the time has come to make it clear properly. First and foremost, to ourselves.
