In the Italian translation of Max Horkheimer and Theodor W. Adorno’s Dialectic of Enlightenment, “Yaleschlösser” (Yale locks) became “i castelli di Yale” (Yale’s castles). This mistake was regarded as a good title for a new philosophical review… The article relates the (detective)story of this fantastic misunderstanding.
